The Drawing Board Ltd was initially established in Auckland in 1989, in the wake of the financial crash, as a design and draughting service specialising in the residential sector. The designs by principal, Barry Magowan, were recognised by the Architectural Designers of New Zealand (ADNZ) by being admitted as a full member.
However, close relations with firms of Structural Engineers and the quality of projects they were engaged in convinced Barry to abandon design work himself, preferring to contract out this, and concentrate on being part of realising other Architects designs.
To this end The Drawing Board Ltd has assembled a network of multi-talented draughters whose varied and extensive knowledge and experience makes the company ideally suited to handle Architects and Engineers out-source work.
